The Roots Farm Market is owned and operated by Karin Bellemare & Jon Wagner. The two also own Bear Roots Farm in Williamstown, VT. Karin manages the market and Jon manages the farm. The two businesses work closely together throughout the year.

The Roots Farm Market was born out of Karin & Jon's desire to move away from selling vegetables at the farmer's market. They both dreamed of having a year round market, open 7-days, that was more sustainable for them and convenient for customers. Schlepping vegetables to and from the farm was a lot of work and produced a lot of waste! Alas, the Roots Market was born in 2019.

The farm supplies organic vegetables year round to the store. In addition, the market supports other VT growers, farmers, makers, artists, bakers, etc. If you visit you'll see that we offer a wide variety of products, some of which are hard to find outside of the farmers market.

The store has a very specific seasonality and highlights all that Vermont offers us to enjoy.

 

In the spring we offer seeds, soil mixes, vegetable starts, compost, flowers, hanging baskets, fruit trees, berry bushes, and hanging baskets.

In the summer we highlight all-things-local produce. Organic farm vegetables, tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet corn...strawberries, blueberries, raspberries... The abundance is something you have to experience!

In the fall we like to celebrate the harvest. Our store boasts a very large display of farm pumpkins, winter squash, mums, and fall perennials. Get your camera! You won't want to miss it.

In the winter we sell VT-grown Christmas trees and we make our own wreaths at the farm. We also have a wide variety of locally made gifts for the holidays. 

​

In 2021, we opened an on-site kitchen that offers grab and go items all year long. We utilize as much of our farm grown produce as possible and seek out organic sources for as many of our ingredients as we can. Stop in for our (local favorite) breakfast burritos & breakfast sandwiches. Yum!
