The Roots Farm Market is looking for a full-time Store Team Member to join us! We are a small team, united by a passion for local products and organic, locally-grown produce. We work hard to provide a pleasant and intimate retail experience for our customers, vendors, and the community. We are seeking an energetic go-getter who’s ready to tackle the various tasks we have each day. This position is front facing and requires engagement with customers and store team members throughout the day. We value attention to detail, a sense of humor, and a willing attitude. Tasks may include stocking, organizing, cleaning, handling vegetables, watering plants, merchandising, pricing, etc. This store team member will also be responsible for managing the tills and closing the store at the end of the day. Ideal candidates will bring high energy, trustworthiness, and a team oriented attitude.

Qualifications 

• 3-5 years of experience in retail environment 

• Ability to interact positively with customers 

• Strong verbal skills for selling and assisting teammates

• Proficiency with basic math for handling transactions and tills

• Willingness to work weekends (one day), evenings, and holidays

• Familiarity with POS systems 

 

Job Duties 

• Efficiently and accurately complete customer transactions using the POS system

• Complete daily tasks in a timely, energetic, and efficient manner. Tasks may include: 

  • Price, merchandize, organize, or restock inventory as needed

  • Bag, clean, sort, date, and manage a variety of seasonal, fresh produce

  • Maintain abundant and appealing displays and a clean and welcoming space

• Close the tills and lock the store at close 

 

Physical Aspects 

• Frequent standing up and sitting down, standing for long periods

• Heavy lifting (30-50 lbs) 

• Changing temperature environments: working in walk-in cooler, on store floor, outside in summer/fall months

Schedule

• This position is full-time, closing shifts (10-6:15-6:30), and one weekend day.

Part-Time Store Team Member

Overview:

The Roots Farm Market is looking for a part-time Store Team Member to help with our weekday closing and weekend shifts! We are a small team, united by a passion for local products and organic, locally-grown produce. We work hard to provide a pleasant, relaxed, and intimate retail experience for our customers, vendors, and the community. Store Team Members engage with customers at the register during most of a shift, while also completing vital daily store tasks such as grocery stocking, handling and packaging vegetables, watering plants and vegetables outside, merchandising, and cleaning/organizing the store space. Ideal candidates will bring energy and positivity to the role while maintaining a high level of customer service.

​Job Duties

• Efficiently and accurately complete customer transactions using the POS system

• Interact with customers and community members in a friendly and respectful manner

• Price, merchandize, organize, or restock inventory as needed

• Bag, clean, sort, date, and manage a variety of seasonal, fresh produce

• Maintain abundant and appealing displays and a clean and welcoming space

• Frequent standing up and sitting down, standing for long periods

• Heavy lifting (30-50 lbs) is a regular Store Team Member task

• Changing temperature environments: working in walk-in cooler, on store floor, outside in summer/fall months

Schedule

• Our ideal candidate will be available 2-4 shifts per week. Must be able to take closing shifts (10pm- 6:15pm ) and a Saturday shift; we will consider after-school candidates depending on hiring needs
