About: The Roots Farm Market (the “Organizer”) is doing a pumpkin carving contest that helps raise money for the NOFA-VT Farm Share program! 

 

How to Participate: To get a pumpkin to enter in our Pumpkin Carving Contest (“Contest”), interested individuals or teams (“Participants”) should sign up at the register at The Roots Farm Market and pay $20 to participate (all proceeds will be donated to NOFA-VT). Pumpkins will be provided at sign-up. Individuals, teams, friends, entire families–all are welcome! One pumpkin per entry. Participants must be 18 years or older. Minors can participate if accompanied by an adult (18+). 

 

Pumpkin Drop-off: To be eligible for the contest, Participants must drop off their pumpkin to The Roots Farm Market between 9am Monday, 10/27 through 6pm on Tuesday, 10/28 (“Drop-off Period”) and notify a member of staff of drop-off. Any pumpkins simply left outside of The Roots Farm Market building and/or outside of the Drop-off Period will not be eligible for the Contest. 

 

Voting: Pumpkins will be displayed in a designated area outside of The Roots Farm Market and will be assigned a number. The public can vote on pumpkins starting 9am Wednesday 10/29 through 2pm on Friday 10/31 (“Voting Period”). Voting is open to all customers and staff at The Roots Farm Market. To cast a vote for a pumpkin, write its corresponding number on a ballot slip and drop into our “cauldron” at either register. The prize is a Harvest Basket of a selection of the season’s finest local delicacies (approx. value: $120). The runner-up prize is a Gift Card to The Roots Farm Market ($25).

 

Pumpkin Pick-up: Please collect your carved pumpkin by 6pm on Saturday, November 1, or it will be disposed of. 

 

Criteria For Carving: Pumpkins will be on public display during the Voting Period. Pumpkins should be child-friendly. Any decor added must be secured to the pumpkin. The Organizer will not be responsible for the upkeep of pumpkins and reserve the right to disqualify any pumpkins that are offensive or inappropriate or that incorporate hazardous materials. Battery-operated candles will be provided by Organizer to light the pumpkins.
